Privacy Policy
PRIVACY POLICY — FRANCISCAN WAY
1. WHO WE ARE AND WHAT THIS POLICY COVERS
FRANCISCAN WAY LTD is the legal company identified with the Franciscan Way Android application. This Privacy Policy describes the actual on-device property-guide, favourites, enquiry, photography and contact functions in the current version of the app. It explains the information you enter, why it is used, where it is retained, your options for deleting it, and when a third party may receive technical connection information.
2. PERSONAL INFORMATION YOU ENTER IN AN ENQUIRY
When you prepare a property or property-management enquiry, the app asks for the following required information:
- Full name — used to identify your prepared enquiry.
- Email address — recorded as the contact email on your prepared enquiry.
- Phone number — recorded as the contact phone number on your prepared enquiry.
- Preferred town or area — records the geographical area relevant to the enquiry; this is entered manually and does not use your device's location services.
You may also choose to provide:
- Preferred date — optional date relevant to your request.
- Message or notes — optional free text you choose to enter, which may itself contain personal information.
When an enquiry is completed, the app also records:
- The selected enquiry topic (such as viewing interest or property-management information).
- The home-style category or guide associated with your enquiry, where applicable.
- The date and time the record was created.
The app uses this information to prepare, display and organise enquiry records for you within the app. The required fields are validated before an enquiry record can be completed.
3. WHAT IS TRANSMITTED — AND WHAT IS NOT
The current version of the app does not have a business backend or an enquiry-submission API. Enquiry forms are not automatically emailed or transmitted to FRANCISCAN WAY LTD or any company server. Completing a form does not reserve a property, schedule a viewing, or confirm that the company received or accepted your enquiry.
If you choose the separate Contact Us function, the app may open an installed email application with info@franciscanway.site as the recipient. You decide whether to compose and send a message. An email you choose to send is transmitted through your email provider under that provider's policies; the app does not send an enquiry silently.
4. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
The app may store these items in app-private local Android preferences:
- The required and optional enquiry fields listed in section 2, for enquiries that you complete.
- The selected enquiry topic, associated home-style title and creation time.
- Identifiers of home styles you mark as favourites.
The app does not use an account or cloud synchronisation for these records. These local records are not uploaded to a business server. The Android application disables automatic app backup in its manifest. We do not claim that local device storage is encrypted separately by the app.
5. RETENTION AND DELETION
Saved enquiry records and favourites remain on the device until you remove them. You can:
- Delete an individual completed enquiry from My Enquiries.
- Remove a home style from Favourites.
- Choose “Erase saved data” in More to clear all local enquiry records and favourites.
- Clear the application's data in Android Settings or uninstall the app to remove its locally held data.
The app may also cache licensed architectural photographs locally for faster display. Such image cache files are managed by the application or Android storage controls and are removed when the app's storage is cleared or the application is uninstalled.
6. PHOTOGRAPHY, INTERNET ACCESS AND THIRD PARTIES
The app displays architectural photographs used to illustrate UK building types. If a licensed photograph has not already been bundled with or cached by the app, it may be downloaded from Wikimedia Commons. The image host may receive ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, request time and technical network metadata, in accordance with its own privacy practices. The app does not attach your name, phone number, email address, area or enquiry message to those image requests.
If you open a photographer credit, source or licence link, your device's browser handles the visit and may process browsing information under its own privacy policy. If you contact us via your chosen email application, that email provider handles the message you choose to send.
7. PERMISSIONS AND FEATURES NOT USED
The app uses Android INTERNET permission for access to licensed photos where necessary. It does not request the device's precise location, camera, microphone, contacts, media-library or storage permissions. The current app does not use Firebase, analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, trackers, login accounts, in-app payment processing or credit-card collection. No banking or payment-card details are requested in the app.
8. SECURITY AND YOUR CHOICES
Your enquiry and favourite records are held within the Android application's private local storage, subject to protections provided by your device and operating system. You should avoid entering sensitive documents, bank details or other unnecessary sensitive information into an optional message field. You can review and delete saved records using the controls described above.
9. CHILDREN
This is a general property-information application and is not designed specifically for children. It does not provide child-directed accounts, games or child-targeted advertising.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If the app's forms, data handling, connectivity, third-party services or other relevant practices change, this Privacy Policy should be updated to reflect those changes. The effective date above identifies this version.
